The Civil Aviation Authority
The South African Civil
Aviation Authority (CAA) was
established on 1 October
1998 following the enactment
of
the South African Civil
Aviation Authority Act,
No.40, in September of the
same year. The Act provides
for the
establishment of a
stand-alone authority
charged with promoting,
regulating and enforcing
civil aviation
safety and
security.
